Katherine Gulick

Associate Director of Advancement

Katherine Gulick is Associate Director of Advancement. Her focus is securing new philanthropic support for the six states—Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Michigan—where BDT has contact centers, to ensure that all people receive dignified, caring, and efficient support to meet their basic needs through both direct service and policy change.

Katherine has worked as a nonprofit fundraiser for more than 15 years, both in New York and Philadelphia. Prior to joining BDT in March 2014, Katherine spent 11 years at the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation, the nonprofit arm of Philadelphia’s public library system. As the Director of Institutional Giving, she led a team of skilled institutional fundraising professionals to raise millions each year from foundations, corporations, and government agencies for the Free Library’s vast array of programs, services, and capital initiatives. She has also worked for the Opera Orchestra of New York and the Lower East Side Tenement Museum.

Katherine earned her BS in Social Work from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY, and MA in Museum Studies from New York University. A proud Philadelphian by birth, Katherine is ecstatic to be working for an organization headquartered in the iconic “Clothespin building” she adored as a child and where she first performed with her fourth-grade class choir. She lives in Spring Garden with her husband and two cats.
