Alejandra Solorzano

Michigan Engagement Manager

Alejandra, or Ale, Solorzano became the Michigan Engagement Manager at BDT in 2022. She is responsible for cultivating new relationships and networks across the state to combat poverty by transforming how residents access benefits. Ale manages communications between the state agency and the internal operations teams to move BDT initiatives forward. She also conducts presentations and meetings with partners throughout the region.

Ale has her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of California Berkeley, and she began working in the non-profit industry more than 15 years ago. She has worked with low-income populations, marginalized communities of color, and youths, helping them to access educational opportunities and community development resources. She has also led community organizing initiatives throughout Southern California.

Now that she has relocated to the state of Michigan, she is excited to learn from the communities and organizations in the region and continue to help those that are often left behind.
