Associate Director of Partnerships
Nijah Newton-Famous is an Associate Director of Partnerships at Benefits Data Trust. In this role, she oversees a team of state-based Engagement Managers and supports the organization’s overall strategy around deepening BDT’s work in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Michigan, and Colorado.
Before this promotion, as the Pennsylvania Engagement Manager, Nijah helped streamline application assistance with state and local governments to help those experiencing poverty afford groceries, health care, prescriptions, shelter expenses, and more. This work led her to win first place in Greater Philadelphia’s Social Innovation Awards’ Healthy Food Access category in 2020.
Nijah has invested more than 20 years working in health and human services, creating and leading programs that support low-income individuals and families experiencing poverty and hardship. She earned her B.A. from Temple University and her MPA from Widener University.
