Lauren Philips

New York Engagement Manager

Lauren Philips is the New York Engagement manager at Benefits Data Trust, facilitating relationships between BDT and New York public benefits partners.  

Prior to joining the Partnerships Department at BDT, Lauren worked with anti-hunger organizations on the ground in New York City for nearly 10 years. She began her career as an AmeriCorps member organizing volunteers and providing resource information in West Harlem before managing the soup kitchen and outreach programming at The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine. She then joined the government relations team at Food Bank For New York City, supporting policy change and advocacy efforts toward improving access to food for all at the city, state, and federal levels. 

Lauren received her bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Fla. She is a recent graduate of The New School in New York City where she earned a Master of Science in Public and Urban Policy and Global Urban Futures.
