Marisa Diaz

Senior Manager of Design Strategy

Marisa Diaz is the Senior Manager of Design Strategy for Benefits Data Trust, having joined in 2018 as the organization’s first User Experience (UX) Manager. Since joining, she has built the organization’s UX and UI capacity, supported visual and communication design, and facilitated product strategy and development. Her current role is a culmination of her journey with BDT thus far, where she now oversees the integration of human-centered design into how the organization creates meaningful, intuitive, and impactful solutions for our clients, customers, and partners.

Marisa has over 8 years of experience in applying design thinking methods to solve complex issues. In her work with BDT, she has designed and led interviews and co-creative workshops within the organization, with philanthropy groups, with community-based organizations, and with city government. Previous to BDT, she provided service design consultation to the nation’s first nonprofit grocery to assess their current programs and to explore ways to increase community engagement. She also co-designed and lead a workshop series for minority-owned small businesses and entrepreneurs, aiding in their growth and scale planning.

Marisa holds an M.B.A. in Strategic Design from Jefferson University and a B.F.A. from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia. In her spare time, she finds joy in freestyle cooking, dabbling in crafts, practicing yoga, and encouraging her son’s obsession with the world of Lego.
