As a national nonprofit organization, our mission is to help people live healthier and more independent lives. Part of our work includes sending text messages to individuals and families who may be eligible for public benefits to help pay for food and medication, like SNAP and Medicaid. We help them enroll in assistance programs that can help them make ends meet.
Our texting outreach is often done through BDT’s contact centers in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, and New York City. Our texts will provide information about how to maintain a benefit you’re already receiving or will direct you to call one of our state benefits centers for assistance with the benefits application process. Our text messages will never ask for personal information or contain shortened links that look suspicious.
