Alexis Clark

Associate Director of Research

Alexis Clark, as the Associate Director of Research, spearheads all facets of research and evaluation initiatives at BDT. Collaborating closely with BDT’s Senior Leadership team, she strategically drives research endeavors to achieve organizational objectives while continuously refining the research strategy. She also oversees projects dedicated to uncovering barriers to accessing public benefits, as well as forging partnerships across sectors to optimize BDT's support for entities in higher education, healthcare, and government.

With over a decade of diverse experience in the nonprofit sector, Alexis began her journey in Philadelphia's public schools, where she taught science before transitioning to developing community-based programs for K-12 students. At The Franklin Institute Science Museum, she steered strategic planning and research activities, contributing significantly to the organization's mission. Driven by the exigencies of the COVID-19 pandemic, Alexis pivoted her career trajectory to manage an internationally recognized epilepsy program at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. This experience deepened her interest in understanding the benefits gap and led her to conduct benefits-focused research at BDT.

Alexis holds a B.A. and an M.S. in biology from Arcadia University and Saint Joseph’s University, respectively. She has also obtained certificates in project management from Cornell University and nonprofit leadership from LaSalle University.
